About Lavender Grey

Bright bergamot citrus, a soft lavender aroma, and a malty black-tea base. Lavender Grey brings a floral turn to loose leaf Earl Grey without losing the tea at the heart of it.

What does Lavender Grey taste like?

Citrus leads the cup, followed by lavender and a rounded black-tea body. The floral note lingers after the sip. If Earl Grey is already your afternoon tea, this is a familiar place to try something different.

Plain, with milk, or as a London Fog

Try the first cup plain. Add milk if you like, or use steamed milk and vanilla for a lavender London Fog. Follow the brewing guide on this page for the leaf amount, water temperature, and steep time.

Lavender Grey contains caffeine because its base is black tea.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Bright bergamot citrus and soft lavender, with a warm black-tea undertone.

Flavor: Citrus leads, followed by lavender and a rounded, malty tea base.

Finish: Lingering citrus and floral notes.

Why You'll Love It

The Earl Grey character. Bergamot oil gives the blend its citrus note. Lavender flowers add a soft floral aroma.

A black-tea base. The malty body balances the lighter floral notes and holds up to milk.

An afternoon tea break. Brew a cup, take in the bergamot and lavender, and give yourself a few minutes away from whatever is next. Enjoy it plain or with milk.

I use to be a coffee drinker

I use to be a coffee drinker, but now am a caffeine tea drinker, love it with Rogue Rive honey!

We are so happy to hear that our Lavender Grey tea has converted you from a coffee drinker to a tea drinker. We couldn't agree more with adding a touch of local honey. Thanks so much for your review!

earl grey but make it lavender

The bergamot and lavender together is so elegant. Smells incredible before you even steep it. Makes a beautiful London fog. My new comfort cup, easily.

lavender grey is my evening treat

Earl grey with lavender, so soothing. I have a cup while reading before bed (decaf myself with hot water mostly hah). The lavender is present but not soapy. Gorgeous.

Thank you for the kind words! We put a lot of love into this blend.

great once I figured out the temp

First couple of cups came out a bit bitter and I was disappointed. Turns out I was using water straight off the boil. Once I let it cool a touch it's actually lovely, the lavender and bergamot really come through. Wish the bag had brewing instructions on it, would've saved me the trial and error.

Hi Jessica, thanks so much for the honest feedback! You're spot on. For this blend we recommend water just under boiling (around 175°F) and a 3 minute steep to keep it smooth. We're adding clearer brewing notes to our packaging, and we've just emailed you a little brewing guide. Enjoy!

lovely tea, arrived a bit battered

No issue with the tea itself, the lavender earl grey is lovely. Knocking stars off because the box turned up quite crushed and a little of the loose leaf had spilled inside the outer packaging. Bit of a shame when it's meant to be a treat.

Hi Andrea, we're so sorry your box arrived crushed. That's not the unboxing we want for you. The carrier was rougher than usual here. Our support team has already put a fresh, well padded replacement in the mail to you at no charge. Thanks for your patience!

Earl grey with a soft lavender note, so calming. I have it in the evenings. The lavender isn't soapy, just gentle. Strong black base. One of my absolute favorites.

soothing lavender earl grey

Lavender Grey is such a relaxing cup. The bergamot and lavender are beautifully balanced over a strong black tea. I drink it most evenings. Calming and elegant. Love it.
