Shipping Policy

This Shipping Policy is part of our Terms of Service.

The short version

We pack and ship from our kitchen in Salem, Oregon. Most orders go out within 1–3 business days. Free standard shipping on US orders over $70 and Canadian orders over $90 CAD. Once your package is with the carrier, we'll help you sort out anything that goes sideways. If something arrives damaged or doesn't arrive at all, email us within 7 days and we'll work with you and the carrier to resolve it.

1. Processing times

We ship Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. Every order is packed by hand before it goes out.

Standard: Most orders are processed and shipped within 1–3 business days of receiving your order.

Peak periods: During holidays and high-volume sales, processing may take 3–5 business days. We will communicate delays through your order confirmation email or a follow-up notification. If we are unable to ship your order within the timeframe indicated at checkout, we will promptly offer you the choice to consent to the delay or to cancel your order for a full refund to your original payment method. We issue any such refund promptly, and within 7 business days of your cancellation.

We start working on your order shortly after it's placed. If you need to make a change or cancel, email us at info@ybtco.com immediately. We will do everything we can, but once packing has started, changes may not be possible. Our acceptance of your order occurs when we ship the products, as described in our Terms of Service.

2. Shipping options and rates

United States

Free standard shipping on all US orders of $70 or more, after discounts and before tax. Delivered via Economy service in 5–8 business days to the contiguous United States. Excludes wholesale orders.

Calculated rates for orders under $70, based on weight and destination. Available services include USPS First Class Mail, USPS Ground Advantage, USPS Priority Mail, UPS Ground, and UPS Ground Saver.

Delivery estimates shown at checkout come from the carrier and are estimates, not guarantees. Weather, carrier volume, and other factors outside our control can affect them.

Canada

Free standard shipping on Canadian orders of $90 CAD or more, after discounts and before tax.

Flat rate shipping for Canadian orders under $90 CAD, calculated at checkout.

Delivery estimates: Canadian orders typically arrive within 10–15 business days of shipment. Customs processing can add time.

We do not ship to international destinations other than Canada at this time.

3. Address accuracy

Please double-check your shipping address before placing your order. We are not responsible for delays or non-delivery caused by an incorrect or incomplete address provided by you.

If a package is returned to us as undeliverable because the address was incorrect, the delivery was refused, or the package was unclaimed, we will reach out to arrange reshipment at your expense. If reshipment is not possible or you do not respond within 30 days, we will issue a store credit for the merchandise value. Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

4. Title, risk of loss, and package issues

Risk of loss (US orders): For shipments within the United States, title and risk of loss pass to you when we deliver your package to the carrier. Once it is in the carrier's possession, the carrier is responsible for safe delivery. We are still here to help you navigate any issues that come up.

Risk of loss (Canadian orders): For shipments to Canada under DAP terms, the seller bears the risk of loss during transit until the goods arrive at your address. Once the carrier makes the goods available for delivery at your location, risk transfers to you.

Damaged in transit: Email us at info@ybtco.com within 7 days of delivery. Include your order number and photos of the damaged product and packaging. Hold onto everything until the claim is resolved. If we confirm transit damage, we will resolve it with a replacement or store credit, at your choice, consistent with our Return and Refund Policy.

Marked delivered but not received: Carriers occasionally mark a package as delivered before it actually arrives. Check with your household and neighbors first. If it still has not turned up within 48 hours, contact us within 7 days of the delivery scan and we will open a trace with the carrier.

Stolen packages: We are not responsible for packages that carrier tracking confirms were delivered to the correct address and were subsequently stolen. We recommend filing a report with your local post office and the carrier. We will assist where we can, but we cannot guarantee replacement in these cases. If you are concerned about package theft, consider using a carrier option that requires a signature on delivery, where available. Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have under applicable law.

5. International shipping: Canada

Duties and taxes: Canadian orders ship DAP (Delivered At Place) under Incoterms 2020. The recipient is responsible for any import duties, taxes, GST/HST, and brokerage fees assessed by Canadian customs or the carrier. These charges are not included in our shipping rates, are not collected by us at checkout, and are not refundable by us. The amount will vary depending on the product, its declared value, and your province.

Customs delays: Cross-border shipments may be delayed by customs processing. This is outside our control and does not constitute a shipping defect.

Refused shipments: If you refuse delivery because of duties or taxes, we will issue a store credit for the merchandise value after the package is returned to us in resalable condition. Original shipping charges and any return fees charged to us by the carrier will be deducted. We encourage you to research applicable duties before ordering.

Herbal ingredients: Our teas are made with certified organic botanicals. Canadian customs may occasionally inspect shipments containing certain herbal ingredients, which can add processing time. This is outside our control.

6. Order tracking

You will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking link once your order ships. Give tracking 24–48 hours to start updating after the carrier picks up your package. You can also track your order anytime from your account at account.ybtco.com.

7. Delays beyond our control

We are not liable for shipping delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including carrier service disruptions, severe weather, natural disasters, public health emergencies, customs processing, government actions, or labor disputes affecting carriers. We will communicate known delays when we can and work with you to find a resolution. For extended delays, our Terms of Service govern your options, including cancellation rights.

8. Subscription shipments

Recurring subscription orders ship on the cadence you selected at checkout, using the same processing times and shipping options above. You can skip, reschedule, or cancel a subscription anytime from your account at account.ybtco.com. Full subscription terms are in our Terms of Service.

9. Wholesale orders

This policy covers consumer orders placed on ybtco.com. Wholesale orders follow separate shipping terms agreed upon at the time of purchase. For wholesale inquiries, visit our Wholesale page or email us directly.
