How to Make a Cozy Orange Spice Tea Latte at Home

There is a specific feeling we all crave when the weather turns crisp: that desire to wrap your hands around a warm mug, put on a cozy sweater, and just slow down. This recipe is that feeling, liquefied.

Our Orange Spice Latte is a festive, warming twist on a traditional chai latte. Instead of the typical spicy pepper notes, this drink leans into the comforting, nostalgic embrace of sweet cinnamon, warming cloves, and, of course, bright, zesty orange peel.

Why We Love This Blend

The base of this latte is our best-selling Orange Spice black tea. Unlike coffee shop syrups that use artificial "pumpkin" or "spice" flavorings, we use real, organic ingredients.

We blend robust black tea with real cinnamon chips, whole cloves, and dried orange peel. To make it truly special, we add crystallized ginger for a sweet kick and roasted chicory root for a deep, coffee-like body that stands up perfectly to milk.

The Secret Ingredient: Orange Syrup

While this tea is delicious on its own, turning it into a latte takes it to the next level. In this recipe, we recommend using a splash of orange syrup. This amplifies the citrus notes and pairs beautifully with the creamy oat milk.

Don't have orange syrup? No problem. Honey or maple syrup works wonderfully, bringing out the natural sweetness of the cinnamon and cloves.

Frothing for Texture

To get that barista-quality texture at home, frothing your milk is key. We love using a barista-style oat milk because it creates a thick, micro-foam that holds its structure, but dairy milk or almond milk works great, too.

Prep 2 mins
Steep 5 mins
Total 7 mins
Yields 1 latte
Cal 140 cals
Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp YBTCO Orange Spice Tea
  • ½ cup hot water (212°F)
  • ½ cup milk of choice (Oat milk recommended for best froth)
  • 1 tbsp orange syrup (or honey/maple syrup)
  • Optional: Pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for garnish
Instructions
  1. Boil: Heat your water to a rolling boil (212°F).
  2. Steep: Place 1 tbsp of Orange Spice Tea in your infuser or teapot. Pour ½ cup of hot water over the leaves and steep for 5 minutes to get a strong, robust concentrate.
  3. Sweeten: Remove the tea leaves. Stir the orange syrup (or honey) into the hot tea until dissolved. Pour into your favorite mug.
  4. Froth: While the tea steeps, gently heat your milk. Use a handheld frother or whisk to create a creamy foam.
  5. Assemble: Pour the warm, frothed milk over the tea. Top with a dusting of cinnamon or nutmeg if desired. Enjoy!
Notes
  • Sweetener Tip: While orange syrup amplifies the citrus notes, brown sugar or maple syrup adds a lovely molasses depth that pairs well with the chicory in the blend.
  • Milk Choice: For the thickest foam, use a "Barista Blend" oat milk or whole dairy milk.
